Meet Our Leaders

Established in 2019

Rogue Runners Ripley established in October 2019.  As often happens with groups such as ours, we started with five friends who went out running together. Over time more and more people wanted to join us, so we became an official group and joined Jog Derbyshire, the county-wide supportive network of running groups.

Pictured are our founders, (l-r) Emma, James, Michelle, Martine and Gareth. We all firmly believe that running is and should be a sport that can be enjoyed by everyone, regardless of fitness, speed, size or shape.  We look forward to welcoming you!

"Getting out and being active is having such a positive effect on my mental health. I feel a sense of belonging with the group and a sense of achievement after every session. It really cheers me up knowing I am able to do something I never thought was possible. I am sleeping better and generally feeling more upbeat, so it's helped me massively. I'm so grateful to be part of this group"

Sarah, Walking Group Particpant

"I saw Rogue Runners Ripley on Facebook and I thought I'd give it a try.  It's the best thing I've ever done! It makes me get out to exercise and it's boosted my confidence. Life recently hasn't been easy, but being part of the group helps me put that to one side and get out there.  Everyone is so supportive and they always make you believe you can do it. Thank you for keeping me going"

Emma, Rogue Rovers Participant

"This is quite honestly the best thing I've done in recent months. Hopefully I'll get fitter and slimmer, but leaving the house and being with people has mentally done me sooooo much good. i can't believe how much happier I am in just 2 weeks! For some, Couch to 5k is about becoming a runner. for others like me, it is about using exercise as another tool to fight the effects mental health issues can have."
